![]() Check back for next week’s blog post to see what I items I picked.Hello, it's Magda! I'm very happy to share with you my first project crafted from Crate Paper. These steps include analyzing my current wardrobe and choosing what to purchase. Now that I have my color palette and overall mood of my outfits nailed down, I can start with the next step of the process. As a mom opting for white jeans is a risky move! Hopefully my tide-to-go pens are up to the challenge. For spring I really wanted to focus on a lighter wash of denim as well as white which is represented by the denim background. Both women are wearing jeans which are a major component of my wardrobe. I want my outfits to have a sense of elegant simplicity. ![]() The feeling I am trying to convey is chic, put together and carefree. ![]() The pictures of the two women served as the inspiration for how I want to feel and present myself in my outfits. When creating a mood board, be sure to include pictures that feature your color palette and overall feeling that you want your outfits to project. As for the green I darkened the shade slightly to work better with my coloring. Luckily for me, that particular shade of lavender is on trend for the season making it fairly simple to add to my closet. The lavender and green colors of these flowers served as the main inspiration for this season’s color palette. That particular shade of purple always reminds me that spring is coming. The inspiration for my spring color palette are these beautiful clover flowers that bloom in grassy lawns and fields all over North Alabama. ![]() For the mood board I picked pictures that represented my chosen spring colors and the overall feel that I want my outfits to project. Creating a Mood BoardĪfter determining my color palette, I created a mood board located at the top of the post. Even though shades of brown were not recommended for my coloring, I feel that I can make the color work in the form of accessories. As for accent colors, I really love this warm tan shade and the forest green. These two colors always make me feel cheerful no matter the weather. Plus, I really like the way I feel in both yellow and lavender. I feel these colors will work well for both spring and summer. The yellow and lavender shade I really love and want to start adding these two colors to my current wardrobe. I have several tops and even a pair of pants in these colors that would work well for spring. The soft pink and magenta colors I already own and enjoy wearing. Did I want to add that color to my wardrobe?.Did I already own that color? To cut down on cost and reuse what I own.I based my color choices on three things: My accent shades include a tan and a forest green. Navy works particularly well in the spring and summer months as an alternative to black.įor my main spring colors, I chose this lemon-yellow shade, lavender, soft pink and magenta. I chose light blue because I gravitate toward lighter washes of denim and navy because it’s a less harsh version of black. I then picked light blue and navy as additional core colors. Luckily, I really like wearing all three. Black, white and charcoal grey were three neutral colors recommended to me by the Color Guru. They include black, charcoal grey, white, light blue and navy. In my wardrobe I have a core set of neutrals that I wear all year long. All the colors on the color palette coordinate really well together allowing you to mix and match your clothes with ease. How do you limit yourself to just a handful of colors, especially when there so many out there? One of the benefits of my color analysis was receiving a 35-shade color palette eliminating the need for any guesswork on my part. In the past building a color palette from scratch always seemed very overwhelming. When determining how I wanted to start building a new spring wardrobe, I turned to the color palette provided to me by the Color Guru. Below I have described my overall process in creating both a spring color palette and a spring mood board. I am really looking forward to planning and organizing my new springtime wardrobe. My pre-baby clothes do not fit me the way they used to, and some are just getting really worn out. The past couple of years I have been either pregnant or taking care of a small infant so building a spring wardrobe was not at the top of my list. We try our best to enjoy the wonderful temperatures while they last. Here in Alabama Spring-like weather doesn’t last too long, before we are hit with the summer heat. Does anyone else feel ready for Spring yet? As I sit here writing on a cold, rainy day, I couldn’t be more ready for some nicer weather.
